Preventing radicalisation
AN INTERACTIVE FORMAT OF IMPULSES FOR PUPILS
More and more young people feel a great distance between them and the political system, they do not see their concerns taken into account and do not see any opportunities for participation. In this situation, the ability to engage in constructive debates, to allow for a change of perspective, to tolerate other opinions and to deal with ambiguity is all the more important, rather than looking for easy solutions.
This is why the Global Ethic Foundation has been actively promoting the prevention of radicalisation among young people since 2015 in the project ‘Achtung? – Radicalisation concerns us all!’ together with the Competence Centre against Extremism (konex) in Baden-Württemberg to actively promote the prevention of radicalisation among young people.

In this situation, the ability to engage in constructive debates, to allow for a change of perspective, to tolerate other opinions and to deal with ambiguity is all the more important, rather than looking for easy solutions.
For this reason, the Global Ethic Foundation has been involved in the project “Attention?! – Radicalisation concerns us all!” (“Achtung?! – Radikalisierung geht uns alle an!“) together with the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior in the field of radicalisation prevention amongst young people.
PREVENTION OF RADICALISATION
WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT?
„Du bist gefragt!“ (It’s up to you!) is a 90-minute workshop for school classes from grade 9 upwards or youth groups from the age of 15. It offers training in targeted democratic action skills as well as a constructive way of dealing with (opinion) plurality.
It is about:
- freely contributing one’s own point of view and standing by it
- listening to people with different positions, asking questions, trying to understand the background to the opinion and accepting the differences
- reflecting on and further developing one’s own position
- becoming aware that there are unifying values of togetherness in all religions and cultures
- actively thinking about how good cooperation can work on a small and a large scale (global responsibility).
