DIALOGUE ON SOCIETY AND VALUES
GLOBAL ETHIC AS A PLATFORM FOR SHARED VALUES
The Global Ethic aims to bring about a discussion of values in society as a whole – nationally and globally. After all, in all areas of society, both small and large, there are challenges and questions of ethical significance and importance. These can only be solved together, on the basis of values, regardless of the beliefs or ideologies of those involved. The Global Ethic Foundation sees itself as a resource for ideas and a platform where solutions are discussed and developed through projects and events, and where spaces are created in which values are lived and experienced.

worldlab
In the WORLDLAB we strengthen the democratic skills of students in ordinary and vocational schools in Baden-Württemberg. During the course of the three stages of this workshop, the participants approach one another with respect for their diversity and work on agreeing on common values through dialogue. This lays the basis for further cooperation on a practical project with which the students contribute to the global sustainability agenda which, furthermore, enables them to live and reflect on values in everyday life.
GLOBAL ETHIC SCHOOLS
At a Global Ethic School, teachers, students and parents learn with one another and from one another and thus grow together into a community based on Global Ethic values. The concept of Global Ethic offers an umbrella under which a value-oriented school culture, supported by everyone, is formed and lived. Read more about Global Ethic Schools on this page.
Du bist gefragt!
More and more young people feel a great distance between them and the political system. They feel their concerns are not taken into account and there are no opportunities for participation. In this situation it is important to offer a platform to engage in constructive debates and allow for a change in perspective, which should help tolerate other opinions and deal with ambiguity. This is far more important than looking for easy answers.
SPEECHES ON GLOBAL ETHIC
Since 2000, the Global Ethic Foundation has organized Speeches on Global Ethic together with the University of Tübingen. In these talks, outstanding personalities from the fields of politics, culture, science, religion and public life, take a stand on the global ethic issue from different vantage points. The speeches take place in the festival hall of the University of Tübingen and generate a lot of interest far beyond Tübingen and the region.
BUSINESS ETHIC
Since initiating the Global Ethic project in 1990, Hans Küng concerned himself with the problem of economics and ethics – more precisely, ethically responsible business as a prerequisite for sustainable prosperity, global justice and social peace. The question of a global business ethic, that is – the necessity for responsible thinking and acting on the part of economic actors worldwide, has therefore been at the core of the Global Ethic Foundation from the very beginning. The scientific basis for this is Hans Küng’s reflections in “Global Ethic for World Politics and the World Economy” (1997) and “Decent Business. Why Economics Needs Morality” (2010) as well as the “Manifesto: Global Business Ethic.” The latter having been created in 2010 under the auspices of the Global Ethic Foundation.
OFFERS IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION
Personal encounters and open exchanges are fundamental to a democratic society. The Global Ethic Foundation has developed innovative workshops for schools. These workshops promote real encounters and an exchange of ideas both within the schools and externally. These exchanges are value-oriented and interreligious.
