Collecting general information
When you access our website, information of a general nature is automatically collected. This information (server log files) includes, for example, the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider and the like. This is only information that does not allow you to be personally identified. This information is technically necessary in order to correctly deliver the content of websites as requested by you and is mandatory when using the Internet. We only evaluate anonymous information of this type in order to optimise our website and the technology behind it. The exact provisions regarding data processing when visiting our website can be found in our website’s privacy policy.
Processing of personal data in the webshop
When you place an order in the Global Ethic Foundation’s webshop, the following personal data is collected: title, name, postal address, email address, telephone number.
The personal data you provide (title, name, postal address, email address, telephone number) will be stored lawfully and in accordance with the provisions of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Telemedia Act (TMG). Of course, your data will be treated confidentially.
The legal basis for the processing of personal data is Art. 6 para. 1 clause 1b of the GDPR. Your personal data will be used to process orders and fulfil contracts in the Global Ethic Foundation’s webshop. We also need the data to identify you as a customer, to correspond with you and to process the contract. In order to deliver the goods, your address details must be passed on to our shipping service provider Medienstudio Christoph Lang in DE-94568 St. Oswald, Germany, and to DHL. They have a duty to treat your data confidentially and to use it exclusively for the purpose of delivery. Any further transfer of personal customer data to third parties will not take place.
Erasure or blocking of data
We adhere to the principles of data avoidance and data economy. We will therefore only store your personal data for as long as this is necessary to achieve the purposes stated here or as provided for by the various storage periods provided for by law. After discontinuation of the respective purpose or if these deadlines expire, the corresponding data will be routinely blocked or erased in accordance with legal regulations. The data collected for the order will be stored until the expiry of the statutory limitation periods and then erased, unless we are required to do so for a longer period in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 clause 1 c GDPR due to tax and commercial law retention and documentation obligations (from the German Commercial Code, the German Criminal Code or the German Fiscal Code) or you have consented to further storage in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 clause 1 a GDPR.
Order details
After you place your order, your order data will be stored in our inventory management system for contract fulfilment. It will be kept in accordance with the time limits of tax law, Art. 6 1 clause 1 c GDPR.
Your rights as a data subject
You have the right,
- according to Art. 7 para. 3 GDPR, to withdraw your previously provided consent at any time. The consequence of this is that we may no longer continue data processing based on this consent in the future;
- according to Art. 15 GDPR, to request access to your personal data that is processed by us. You may in particular request information on the purpose of processing, the category of the personal data, the categories of recipient to whom your data has been or will be disclosed, the envisaged period for which the personal data will be stored, the existence of a right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing or objection, the existence of a right to appeal, the origin of your data, if it was not collected by us, as well as on the existence of automated decision-making including profiling and, if appropriate, meaningful information about details regarding the above;
- according to Art. 16 GDPR, to request the immediate rectification of incorrect or completion of your personal data that is stored with us;
- according to Art. 17 GDPR, to the erasure of your personal data that is stored with us, where the processing is not required for exercising the right of freedom of expression and information, for compliance with a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims;
- according to Art. 18 GDPR, to request the restriction of processing your personal data, where you are contesting the accuracy of the personal data, the processing is unlawful, and you are opposing the erasure of the data and we no longer require the data, however you require the data for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims, or in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR, you have objected to the processing;
- according to Art. 20 GDPR, to receive the personal data concerning you, which you have provided to us, in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format or to request the transmission to another controller and
- according to Art. 77 GDPR, to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. As a rule, you can contact the supervisory authority at your usual place of residence or work or at our company headquarters.
Right of objection
If your personal data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 clause 1 1f GDPR, you have the right, in accordance with Art. 21 GDPR, to object to the processing of your personal data, where there are grounds relating to your particular situation.

Changes to our data protection provisions
We reserve the right to occasionally adapt this Privacy Policy so that it always complies with the current legal requirements or to implement changes to our services in the Privacy Policy, e.g. when introducing new services. The new Privacy Policy shall apply when you next visit.
