NEW PROJECT: “DAZWISCHEN?” – ANTI-DISCRIMINATION IN MUNICIPALITIES AND COUNCILS OF RELIGIONS
The Global Ethic Foundation is launching the pilot project “Dazwischen”—funded by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation. It is aimed at local Councils of Religions and their municipalities in Baden-Württemberg and addresses areas where interfaith dialogue reaches its limits: emotionally charged topics such as the Middle East conflict and the lack of established procedures for dealing with antisemitism, racism, and religion-based discrimination.
Jewish-Muslim speaker tandems are supporting the pilot sites in Offenburg and Reutlingen. They conduct workshops, dialogue sessions, and peer-to-peer case consultations, and assist councils and municipalities in developing clear procedures for addressing incidents of discrimination. A third location is still being sought.
The project is being carried out in cooperation with the Jewish Cultural and Religious Association of Kehl e.V. and the Integration Office of the City of Offenburg (Department of Family, Schools, and Social Affairs).
