The Global Ethic Foundation of Mexico was founded in 2006 at the initiative of the businessman and philanthropist Gerardo Martinez Cristerna and his wife. In March, 2007, the Foundation presented itself to the public with a series of lectures by Prof. Hans Küng in Mexico City in connection with a showing of a Spanish version of the exhibition “World Religions – Universal Peace – Global Ethic”, which the Foundation has prepared. The Foundation strives to spread the Global Ethic idea through cooperation with universities, with schools and other educational institutions, and with political figures and economic enterprises. It has already held several conferences on inter- religious, philosophical and ethical themes.

In 2008, the Foundation will offer a course entitled “Global Ethic and Social Responsibility”, aimed at on-going teacher training. The Chairman of the Foundation is Gerardo Martinez Cristerna. In the Executive Committee there are prominent intellectuals and businesspeople from Mexico, Chile and Spain
