The Global Ethic Foundation of Columbia was officially founded in November, 2006 by Carlos Paz, a lawyer and social development expert. who now serves as the director of the Foundation. Its aim is to make the Global Ethic project known not only in Columbia but also in the other countries of South America. Contacts have already been established with Chile and Argentina.

In March, 2007, the Foundation organised a “Week of Global Ethic in the Economy and in Politics”, with a lecture series by Prof. Hans Küng in Bogota, which called attention to the Foundation throughout Columbia. The collected lectures have since been published as book, Ethics in America, by Trotta in Madrid. Of special importance was the participation of the new Foundation in an international businessmen's congress on the theme “Social Responsibility” held in Cali in October, 2007.
